The Pro X2 is solidly built and feels very comfortable in the hand. The body has been ergonomically designed without a contour at the bottom that provides space for the user’s thumb to wrap around when holding the device. The size of the Pro X2 feels comfortable for average sized hands. It has a rubber armored metal housing which protects the device from minor drops and impacts. It can actually handle drops from a height of about 1 meter. Apart from being shock resistant, the rubber armored metal housing makes the Pro X2 fully waterproof, with an IPX7 rating, which means it can handle immersion in water at a depth of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. That’s truly impressive, considering that most rangefinders in the market are only water resistant.

The Pro X2 is designed with simplicity in mind, with only button at the top which powers on the device. The other controls are cleverly hidden in the Bushnell and Pro X2 logos on the side of the device. There’s also a focus adjustment dial in front of the eyepiece. The Pro X2 has Bushnell’s Stable-Grip Technology. It is fitted with a rubber grip over the armored metal housing to provide the user with a solid grip. The device also comes with a premium carrying case with a carabiner clip.

Features

The Bushnell Pro X2 comes with a standard mode for tournaments and a slope mode for practice and casual play. Just in case you are not aware, slope mode gives measurements that are adjusted depending on the degree of slope between the player and the flag. However, the most impressive thing with the Pro X2 is the innovative Slope-Switch Technology. In previous models, users had to switch face plates to toggle between standard and slope mode. However, with the Slope-Switch Technology on the Pro X2, the user simply needs to slide the Pro X2 logo up or down to toggle between modes.

Like the Tour series models, the Pro X2 comes with Bushnell’s patented Pinseeker with JOLT Technology, which eliminates all doubt by giving the golfer a short burst of vibration when the device locks on to the flagstick. The Pro X2 boasts an impressive range of up to 1300 yards and up to 450+ yards to the flag. It also comes with 2nd Gen. E.S.P. {Extreme. Speed. Precision.), which provides readings five times faster and more accurately than other models. It has an accuracy of plus or minus ½ yard and displays distances to 1/10th of a yard, giving golfers extra confidence with every shot.

The device also features Dual Display Technology (DDT) which allows users to switch between a crisp black display or the bright red display with Vivid Display Technology (VDT) based on lighting conditions and personal preference. Toggling between the two modes can be easily done by pressing on the Bushnell logo on the side of the device. The Pro X2 has a high quality multilayer coated monocular with 6x magnification and a Fast Focus System, which allows the user to easily and quickly adjust the focus using the focus ring on top of the eyepiece.

Pros

  • Slope-Switch Technology: The Slope-Switch Technology on the Pro X2 makes it easy and quick to switch between standard and slope modes, giving users the best of both worlds in one device.

  • DDT: The Dual Display Technology makes it easy to read measurements regardless of the conditions on the course.
  • Durability: The impact resistant and waterproof rubber armored metal body means the device can take a beating and still deliver results.
  • Ease of use: The ergonomic design, intuitive operation buttons and high quality optics make the Pro X2 easy to use.
  • Tournament Legal: The rangefinder complies with rule 14-3 of the USGA on artificial devices.
  • Pro-certified: As Bushnell’s most advanced rangefinder, the Pro X2 is pro-certified. Bushnell rangefinders are used by over 97% of PGA Tour pros.
  • Warranty: Like all other Bushnell products, the device is covered by a 2 year warranty on any defects in materials and workmanship.

Cons

  • As the most advanced product in the Bushnell line, the Pro X2 is quite expensive compared to other models and brands available.
  • The rangefinder is also heavier than most other models, thereby not so convenient to carry around.
  • Although the Pro X2 has a strong rubber armored metal housing and feels solid enough, it has not been on the market long enough to determine how durable it is.

Conclusion

As one of the most advanced laser rangefinders in the market, the Pro X2 is a great investment, especially for golfers who compete in tournaments since it complies with PGA rules. The new features and technology on the device will help you improve your game and you are definitely going to like the Slope-Switch feature as well as the range and accuracy. Aside from that, the waterproof body means you don’t have to worry about using the device in inclement weather. Despite its premium price, the outstanding features on the Bushnell Pro X2 are worth every penny. On top of that, Bushnell has a trade-in program that allows you to trade in your old Bushnell rangefinder for a newer model, thereby saving you a couple dollars. This rangefinder is definitely worth checking out.
